Refund Policy: There are no refunds after a class has started. Reactive dogs will be removed from group classes without a refund and must sign up for private lessons before going back to group classes . There are no refunds or credits if you miss a class. As a courtesy, you can make up a missed class during the same session only, for a class of the same level, with instructor approval, if time and space permit. . There is a $15 fee for returned checks.
No reactive dogs will be permitted in group classes. They must start out in private lessons first.

Puppy Kindergarten: This class is for puppies from 8 weeks to around 5 months old. This class will have some puppy socialization time, as well as getting your puppy started on basic obedience. Your puppy is like a sponge at this age and it is great time to shape learning behaviors and teach basic skills they will need the rest of their lives. We will cover sit, down, stand, wait, leave it, off, loose leash walking, name game, come and various attention games. The focus on this class is to teach the puppy how to learn and to shape positive behaviors and pinpoint possible future issues, and address them now.
AKC Puppy Star Program: How It Works
When you complete a basic training class (taught by an AKC Approved CGC Evaluator) with your puppy (up to 1 year old) your puppy is eligible to be enrolled in the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program.
You'll attend any puppy or basic training class at least 6 weeks. Your instructor will administer the AKC S. T.A.R. Puppy test at the end of the course. Upon passing the test, you'll get an form to send to AKC® for the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program. All dogs are welcome to participate in the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program including purebreds and mixed breeds.
Your puppy will receive the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Medal (for display or memento purposes; not suitable as a collar tag). You and your puppy will be listed in the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy records. In addition, so that you can continue learning, you’ll receive our AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy package that includes:
-A beautiful, frameable certificate designating your puppy is in the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy records at AKC -AKC Puppy Handbook, a valuable resource -Discount to enroll in AKC Companion Animal Recovery Corporation, a 24-hour recovery service -Ongoing Monthly Email Newsletter: Your AKC. This includes training tips and up-to-date information every dog owner needs to know. We want you and your puppy to continue learning beyond puppy classes.
Beginner Obedience: This class is for dogs 5 months and older. This class will cover all basic Obedience skills and address various common behavioral issues. They will learn sit, down, stand, wait, stay, come, leave it, loose leash walking, off and more. The focus of this class is to get your dog on the road to being a well behaved pet, and teach you how to be an effective, calm and assertive trainer through use of food, praise and your relationship with your dog.
Advanced Beginners: This class is for dogs 5 months and older. This class is a continuation of Beginner obedience. We will perfect the skills from beginner obedience, in addition to doing stand for exams, automatic sits on loose leash walking, longer recalls, sit stays and down stays and more. Upon successful completion of this class, participants will receive Certificates for passing. ( Must have taken Beginner Obedience or instructor approval)
AKC Canine Good Citizen Class/Therapy Dog: This class is open to any dog that is 6 months or older. (even mixed breeds) This class will cover all of the exercises that are required to be performed in order to obtain the CGC Certification. If you ever thought of making your dog a better citizen in the community or doing therapy work in your local hospital or nursing home, this is the place to start. Week 6 the dogs will be Tested. There is no additional fee from Clever K9 to test for CGC. (AKC charges $5 to register) TDI class will teach additional skills of Leave it, learning to work around wheel chairs, walkers and canes etc to work in Hospitals and Nursing homes. Dog needs to have a basic knowledge of loose leash walking, sit, down, short recall, and short stay. Dogs are not tested in class for TDI. Independent evaluator is brought as soon as one is available for TDI testing that must also be open to the public. Additional fee applies at testing date.
